What actually is a JADU?

A Junior ADU can be up to the size limit of 500 square feet and built within a single-family residence structure. It should have a separate entry point and NO parking is required for a JADU. It is also a legally rentable unit. On the contrary, if you go to convert a garage into a JADU, only then a replacement parking is required. Otherwise, if you are building it from scratch without touching the existing parking lot or garage, a new parking space is not required. JADUs are exempt from all parking requirements.
